School age children missing flu vaccination at school information

Message from Herts & West Essex ICB:

We’ve been made aware that some school age children missing flu vaccination at school, are approaching their GP to ask for the vaccine at the practice.  GPs are not commissioned to provide flu vaccines for school age children and are therefore turning them away.  Please may we share the attached information so that practices can give young people and parents information on where they can access the vaccine.  For children with SEND who may need extra care with administering a vaccine and for children who are home schooled, please direct the parent/carer to contact the Children’s School Age Immunisation Service on 0300 555 5055 Option 7 or email hct.csaisherts@nhs.net
