notes from carers and patient meeting Oct 15
Named Accountable GP
Nationally you may have seen in the press that all patients, including children, are allocated a named, accountable GP who is responsible for their overall care at the practice. This is referred to as your 'Usual GP'. We have had a named and registered GPs here at the surgery for a while now. You should be informed of your Usual GP when you register but you can also check who this is with any member of staff at any time. Here at the surgery, we encourage you to see your Usual GP where possible, particularly for on-going problems, so we can provide you with better continuity of care. If he/she is fully booked, you can ask for an appointment with another Doctor or a Minor Illness Practitioner. We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate requests to change Usual GP.
Do you know how your NHS works?
The team here at the surgery think this link, to a video prepared by The Kings Fund explains it well. Have a watch! http://www.kingsfund.org.uk/projects/nhs-65/alternative-guide-new-nhs-England
Contractual Update Notification
All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings (average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice. The average pay for GPs working in the Kings Langley and Longmeadow Surgeries in the last financial year was £59,305 before tax and National Insurance. This is for 4 full-time GPs and 6 part-time GPs
Nationally, after 31st March 2016 all patients are able to view their coded medical record online should a registered patient request to view this. Our clinical system - EMIS - are able to facilitate this for patients who are already registered EMIS Online users. Patients still need to request to see this via their GP and details will then be given to individuals as required.
Changes to your Health Record...
Details about how the local NHS uses and protects the information held about you on your health record has been added to the New Patients section of the website - if you have any questions about this, please contact the surgery and speak to one of the admin team. For further details about the Medical Interoperability Gateway (MIG) and what it means please take a look at http://www.healthcaregateway.co.uk/about.
